ABOUT

Mitchelene Denard Bouie is a native of Newark, New Jersey who moved to Georgia in 2002. She is the wife of Elder Darrell L. Bouie for more than 25 years, the mother of 3 beautiful children, and grandmother of 11, Mitchelene has had many accomplishments in her life.

She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Child Psychology from Seton Hall University and began teaching in an early childhood setting. She later got her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and over the years she has taught all age groups from infants to 8th grade. She has faithfully served as a Praise Leader, Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, and in March of 2014 under the leadership of Apostle Michael Favors, Mitchelene was licensed as a Youth Minister. She was ordained as campus Pastor for Empowerment Action Center of Smyrna in February 2016. God also led Pastor Bouie to form Queenie’s Angels Christian Academy that same year. Queenies Angels existed for several years before God led Pastor Bouie to begin Bible Way School of Excellence Home School.

In 2017, Pastor Bouie along with the members changed the name from Empowerment Action Center of Smyrna to Bible Way Christian Ministries. Then in November 2019, God led Pastor Bouie to become a  part of Power of Deliverance International Covenant Fellowship of Churches under the leadership of Apostle Sabrina Jemison. After this transition, she found that there was more work for her to do in the faith community. Pastor Bouie has faithfully served as the Pastor of Bible way Praise & Worship Church as well as a vital member of the Power of Deliverance International Covenant Fellowship of Churches and will continue to serve, wherever God leads her until her assignment has been completed.

In 2022, Pastor Bouie founded “I Am Who I Am Mentoring” for young ladies and has served as mentor to young ladies all over the community. She has mentored girls and young ladies in Georgia as well New Jersey over the years.

In March of 2024, Pastor Bouie was inspired by two powerful women in two different states to use her gift of teaching children and young adults to start a youth virtual Bible Study. Spiritual Refuge Bible Study was birthed from those conversations.

Channon Denard Woods is not only a native of New Jersey, but she is also the proud daughter of Pastor Bouie. Channon moved to GA in middle school and graduated from Marietta High School. Channon followed closely in her mother’s footsteps and started working in childcare right out of high school while deciding where she wanted to go to college.

Channon is the wife of Deacon Andre Woods, and the proud mother of six beautiful children. They all attend Bible Way Praise & Worship Church under the leadership of her mother, Pastor Mitchelene Bouie. They are also students at Bible Way School of Excellence Homeschool.

Channon decided to attend Kean University Online and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education in January of 2016. She has worked as a lead Pre-K Teacher and is currently a Homeschool teacher in Bible Way School of Excellence, where she teaches elementary school children and also serves as the Director.

In March of 2020, Channon was licensed as a Minister in Bible Way Praise & Worship Church. She has faithfully served as the Youth minister, Worship Leader and anywhere needed for the growth of the church.

Channon loves the Word of God. She loves preaching and teaching. There’s no better way to bring out the best in her as well as the best in the young people she serves, than to use her gift of teaching with the virtual Bible Study.
